Right after you start, you hit a boulder area where there are an abundance of Pikas (rock rabbits). Indy has a very strong prey drive, so she has to try and seek them out. She always makes Kristina nervous when she does this. However, she always navigates the boulders well and has a good time. And rest assured, she never catches any rock rabbits!
And because Idaho has been getting a decent amount of rain all summer, the flowers were everywhere and looking good!
Here is the scenic dog...this dog LOVES to hike and explore--that's why we named her Indiana after Indiana Jones!
Come on Guys! What's taking you so long!
On a side note, about this time, a deer came bounding through the area. Of course Indy had to run after it, but to no avail. We give her credit for keeping up with it for a little while. Deer are just amazing...they cover so much ground with so little effort!
As always, there are no shortages of scenic views!
And, as you can see, we start fishing and in fairly quick order, we catch one! It is a small Brook Trout, and we throw them all back, but they sure are fun to catch! Jared and Kristina trade off fishing. One fishes while the other hangs onto Indy.
Which is a good thing because buried in this photo, is a porcupine! Whew! That was a close one! If we had not been watching Indy and had her on a leash, we could have all been in bad shape!
He or She was none too happy with us snappy photos either!
And as per the norm, Kristina got scuffed up! These were caused by run ins with downed trees and mean bushes! But, it doesn't slow her down. If she is catching fish, she doesn't even notice it!
At the end of the day, we both caught around 4 fish each. It was a good day to spend the day and unwind. Here you can see Indy and Jared relaxing before we head home!
Another great day in Idaho!
