It looks like Indy is done with all chemo. Her lethargy and lack of appetite returned (as well as her fever). When we took her into the ER this morning, she had a 105 degree temperature again -- this time we caught it early, but it was still pretty elevated. Again she stayed in the ER/ICU for 24 hours (instead of 48 hours like last time). She will see Dr. Choy on the 2nd, so we'll see where we go from here. It doesn't look good...but Dr. Choy has surprised us before when we thought all hope was gone.

Indy's Chemo Update
Indy is doing well and her lymph nodes are continuing to shrink -- all of which is FANTASTIC news! She is giving it her best shot -- that's for sure! Dr. Choy and his staff continue to keep a close eye on her, as do we. Go Indy!

Indy's Chemo Update
The good news is that the lymph nodes have shrunk (finally). The bad news is that all chemo is off the table except for Procarbazine. We will continue to give that too her orally at home and we are now dosing dexamethasone instead of prednisone as well. Hopefully this combination will give her a better shot of fighting the cancer. All we can do is hope at this point. Dr. Choy and his staff continue to marvel at how tough Indy is...we agree with them. She is one tough little dog -- and super cute too!

Indy's ER Visit
Well, it looks like Indy's body finally cried uncle with respect to all of the drugs she had been given. She was not eating well and when it occurred to us to take her temperature, it was a 106. At any time if it is over 102, she needs to go into the hospital. She ended up staying the the ER/ICU all weekend. They administered antibiotics and fluids for 48 hours and then once her temperature was going in the right direction, she got to come home. Let's just say that the ER/ICU is not where you want your dog to be when she has no immune system left due to the chemotherapy. We will see what Dr. Choy has to say on Tuesday, but things aren't looking good.

Indy's Chemo Update
Indy had another dose of Meclorethamine and Vinblastine today along with Dexamethasone. Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid, in the same family as Prednisone, but stronger. We are hoping something will keep these lymph nodes from increasing. It looks like they are still getting larger despite all of the chemo. We'll stay the course. We had planned on going to Idaho for a week of vacation, but that looks like it is postponed for at least a little while. We need to keep Indy close to the oncologist and his team.

June Rain
June came and went very quickly...however, we did manage to get about 2 inches of rain. The final total from our backyard rain gauge was 1.95". Not too bad...sometimes June can be VERY wet, so only getting a couple of inches is good with us. Keeps everything green without too much watering!
