Thanksgiving 2015

Thanksgiving was a low-key event this year -- and this is just how we like it!  :)  Jared, Kristina, and Indy love to have low stress holidays.  Kristina still makes HUGE meals, but when not cooking, we end up relaxing and/or hiking depending on the weather.

Here's a shot of the table prior to having any food on it.  Kristina loves orange and she loves pumpkins and sunflowers, so Thanksgiving is a perfect holiday for her decorating tastes.

And here's the table with the meal on it.  Kristina makes EVERYTHING from scratch; she even bakes the bread a week in advance for the stuffing.  In addition to stuffing, we had roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, and fresh dinner rolls.  Yum!  It was a GREAT dinner.

For dessert this year, Kristina went simple and made a cherry pie -- and it was AWESOME!

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

October Rain

October has come and gone, and happily the rain seems to be coming back as summer wanes.  As many of you know, it has been a dry year in Western Washington. However, our October rain total seems to be on the uptick. We had 4.64" of rain in our rain gauge in October. We didn't check the historical data this time, but that seems pretty typical.  It will be interesting to see what November brings!
