Happy Anniversary!

Believe it or not, Jared and Kristina have been married for 12 years!  It doesn't seem possible when you sit down to do the arithmetic, but it is true!  And even after 12 years, we are still glad we eloped! People always told us that we would regret it -- well, we're telling you that we didn't regret eloping, and if we had it to do all over again -- we would do it exactly the same way!

We celebrated on Saturday with a nice dinner at Cantinetta in Bellevue, WA.  We hadn't dined at this location before, but we had a sampling of the one in Wallingford when we went on our White Moustache Tour last year.  Let's just say we were not disappointed in the least.  It was an excellent meal.  Apparently, it was Homecoming in the area as well because there were probably 40-50 teenagers in there having dinner before going to Homecoming.  It was fun to see them all, but it did make us feel a bit old.

The Salmon Are BACK!

Each year it is always fun to see the salmon spawning in the creeks and streams so close to our house. It is that time of year again.  Both Cottage Creek and Bear Creek were full of fish this week.  The fish in Cottage Creek surprised us because it is a rather shallow creek and we had never seen them that far up, until this year.  Earlier in the week Jared saw a Chinook and a Sockeye in Cottage Creek.  And today we saw 6-7 Sockeye in Bear Creek.  Of course Indy was bummed that she couldn't go swimming, but she'll survive.  It is always good to see a good salmon run!

September Rain

FALL has returned to Western Washington and along with fall, the rain arrives.  September was relatively dry from our perspective.  We collected 4.25" of rain during the month of September.  The majority of the rain came over 5 days, so most of the month was fairly dry, although overcast at times.  The fog is returning as well, and that is another sign that fall is upon us.
